Ann Wise - San Jose Divorce Lawyers Rebecca Hughes Tran - San Jose Divorce Lawyers

Founded in 2007, Tran & Wise, LLP is a law firm devoted solely to family law. In 2013, attorneys Ann Wise and Rebecca Tran partnered together to provide the highest quality legal service to family law clients in Santa Clara County. With more than 40 years combined practice as attorneys, Ann and Rebecca have the expertise and experience to handle even the most complex family law matters. Both partners provide representation and consultation in contested divorces, in addition to serving as mediators for clients that wish to jointly negotiate settlement. Both partners specialize in complex property division, as well as support. Ann also specializes in custody and visitation. Both have experience resolving complex economic issues that arise in valuation and characterization of closely held companies and professional practices, and determination of income available for support. Both partners have represented directors and vice presidents at Fortune 500 companies, partners and shareholders in various types of professional practices, and consultants and executive officers of private companies.

Regardless of the size or complexity of the case, the partners develop a strategy in every instance and are available to their clients. Their experience with the family law process and the courts allows efficient and decisive handling of a case, keeping costs to a minimum. The partners both approach a case with the goal of resolving issues without court involvement where possible. However, if a dispute cannot be resolved, they provide strong and effective representation in court.

Mediation is generally the most cost-effective way to obtain a divorce. The lawyer-mediator is hired by both parties to educate them about the law, file all necessary papers, and help them reach an agreement without court involvement.

In certain contested cases, the parties may decide to use a private judge. The partners at Tran & Wise are familiar with the private judges. It is often possible to resolve a case more quickly using a private family law judge than the public family law court. Certain private judges may have more family law experience than judges in the public court and may have more time to devote to a case. However, a private judge is not the best choice for every case. There is no cost to using the family court system and because of the caseload, the judges do push parties to settle.

At Tran & Wise, the entire team is devoted to each client's family law case. Family law clients know that Ann or Rebecca will be the attorney working on the case and appearing for them in court as opposed to having an inexperienced lawyer doing the work. The firm uses the latest technology and can handle even the most document-intensive cases effectively, reducing the cost of the case.
